Fresh Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe

I tend to have an abundance of basil during the summer months, fresh basil pesto is so refreshing, that color green is so beautiful and that fresh smell is transformative. What I love most about pesto sauce is how versatile it is; it can be used as it’s primary purpose… a sauce added to pasta, it can be added to other sauces to make them more interesting & complex or on homemade pizza!!
I end making so much sauce that I put the leftovers into ice cube trays to freeze; I then transfer the cubes into zip lock bags to have fresh pesto all year.
